With all the talk of the ‘big game’ tomorrow, it makes me wonder if there’s an analogy brewing from which leaders can assess how fit they are in the game of business.
I’ve got 10 questions for you.
If your answer is ‘Yes’, touchdown.
If your answer is ‘No’, timeout.
1. Do you have a clear vision for your business?
2. Do you know how you’re going to achieve that vision?
3. Do you personally act as the living breathing expression of the vision?
4. Can your people recite your strategic priorities?
5. Do your people know exactly what their role is in delivering your plan?
6. Are you holding yourself & your people accountable for achieving your plan?
7. Is your proposition easy to sell to customers?
8. Are your people good at selling your proposition to customers?
9. Are you the best salesman in your organisation?
10. Are you acting on the advice of experts surrounding you?
If you’ve answered yes to most of these, well done. Clearly you are a successful leader with a winning team.
If you’ve answered no to any of these, you’ll need to take some time out and work on improving your game.
