What an inspiration the 30th Olympiad has been – the victories, the volunteers and most important, the vision it set for the future of young people around the world.
Local communities will be waking up to this first Monday morning after with the challenge to keep that flame of passion burning and provide the support and infrastructure needed to help people discover and develop their individual talents.
The Milton Keynes Dons Sports and Education Trust (MK Dons SET) is a great example of the type of organisation a community needs to sustain this momentum. In 2010, we helped the MK Dons SET clarify their mission, strategic direction and proposition that is essentially to help everyone in our community get set for life. This proposition was translated into an effective campaign that has unified the amazing range of education, inclusion, sports, health and well being services they make accessible to anyone who wants to participate.
Earlier this year, they were named the Football League’s South East Community Club of the Year – a well-deserved achievement and one that recognises the vital nature of the work they do.
They are certainly doing their part to inspire a generation.
